As excited I was to see this new kid the reds have in their rotation the result was not what I had hoped for. After a pretty solid first inning, Latos fell apart and in the 5th had an early exit with 4 earned runs.

The bullpen came in and failed to douse the flames, actually at times they looked like they tossed gas on the fire.

This is what the first Reds loss of the season felt like to me. I had hoped for a better start for the new pitcher in the rotation, but these things happen.

As long as the Reds can take this game today and continue to take two in every series, they will be fine.
