It is not only the temperature that has gone cold these past two nights here in Cincinnati, the Reds bats have also been fairly silent.
It seems Joey Votto may be slowed down by his pockets full of money as he is only batting at a .188 average for the season. But that is still far better than Stubbs .133 or Rolens .125.
Yes, it is early in the season, but that doesn’t mean games should be handed away to your biggest division rival. The Reds lost to the Cardinals for the second straight night, this time with a score of 3 to 1. Mike Leake had a decent night after getting into a jam in the first. After giving up one run he had the bases loaded with only one out. Rolen was able to scoop a ball, tap third and make the throw to Votto for the out which saved a back to back horrible start for Reds pitchers.
Then in the 6th, Leake hung a ball with a man on for a two run homerun which was enhough for the Cardinals to cruise to a win against this anemic offense.
Man I hope the Reds win tomorrow afternoon.
