Well, yeah; there is a certain kind of perosn quite common in The Mission who has a similar mystical/reverential attitude toward small music venues and indie labels. I remember them dumping on Hfcsker Dfc en masse when the band left SST for Warner Brothers.Me, I'll take baseball where I can get it I love to watch amateur teams play in Golden Gate Park. The great thing about the sport is that it doesn't require you to act your age' to enjoy it.

What ever happened to Reds' catcher Hernadez, who was supposed to be better than Hannigan, but just disappeared from the scene. I saw both play early, and I always thought Hannigan was the better all around catcher, but I would like to know what happened to him.

I want to express my adaimrtion for your kind-heartedness for those people that actually need help on this important subject. Your very own commitment to getting the solution throughout was certainly important and have constantly made those like me to attain their goals. Your personal warm and friendly information denotes this much to me and even further to my peers. Best wishes; from all of us.

I have been a reds fan for most of my life.I remember the first time i saw the Reds play my father took me off my little bike and we set and watch the reds play. I'll never forget that. Ted Kluszewski was my ideal and Frank Robinson came in a close second. Thay had Gus Bell Wally Post and i could kept going but it to eapily for that. But the REDS ARE THE BEST.

Phillips
Cozart
Votto
Rolen
Bruce
Heisey
Stubbs
Mesoraco
Picher

This is my lineup.

Firstly, Brandon can bat anywhere you put him, it just so happens that he is our best bet for a lead-off hitter. I like Rolen 4th. When healthy he is a doubles machine, and with Bruce and his projected power numbers coming up next, Scotty should see some pitches. Heisey has earned his shot. Ludwick is insurance and a more than capable back-up who will get plenty of playing time due to match-ups and Heisey playing a little center field, too. I agree with Stubbs farther down in the order. Until he eliminates his strikeouts he should be no further up. We all have high hopes for Mesoraco, there will be some growing pains.

After reading more about this sample collector I firmly believe Braun is a cheater who got busted and won his appeal on a technicality. I feel for the collector especially since Braun's all out attack on him during his statement over the weekend. Maybe this season we'll see the real Ryan Braun, and if he happens to have a huge year, everyone now will question whether or not he did it cleanly. I hope MLB tests this guy every week.

Couldn't agree more, Number 1. Dirty as hell. But that's fine, he won't touch last years numbers with being under the microscope everyday. Everybody knows that he was using. It really is that obvious. And you are correct about the number of false positives, they just don't occur. These tests are a slam dunk and the only people that bitch are the ones who are dirty.

Sadly, I actually liked this guy as a player and wished the Reds had him in their outfield. Oh well....

Scott,

Think about when the test was taken. This was right in the middle of the playoff run for the Brewers, by a guy who was putting out an MVP performance. I think it is reasonable to believe that he may have been under PED's very recent to the test since this was when he wanted to perform.

Every athlete that has failed a test has claimed it is not accurate. We are supposed to believe, that this one time because of a discrepancy in the hours at FedEx the test failed? Notice in the appeals process that the results were never in question, it was the issue of chain of command.

Also, look at baseball's reaction. They are angry this was over turned.

I have had to take many drug tests for my career, crazy how never once has there been a false positive for me or anyone that I know. It seems to happen so frequently for pro athletes.

I'm going to write more about this tonight (really the morning) but I disagree with your assessment of the Braun thing. The "elevated" levels of testosterone present were at comic book levels, i.e. higher than anyone has ever tested (unless I'm reading it wrong). This calls the sample into question, especially in light of subsequent tests being totally normal.

So maybe Braun was using PEDs, maybe he wasn't. But if the sample wouldn't make it to evidence in a criminal proceeding, I don't want it used to cost a player money or playing time....or reputation.

Journalists wringing their hands over this need to get some fresh air.

I'm not that upset about this decision. I want the Brewers at their fighting weight so that when we win the NL Central and the World Series, we don't have to hear all those Brewers fans saying we won on a "technicality" because Braun was gone for 50 games. Go Reds!

The second line-up is exactly what I would go with if I was in charge of the reds (a boy can dream can't he). I've made it clear I think they should go with Heisey and Ludwick in the outfield and I think that Cozart will make a great 2 hole hitter

I would rather not be favored to win the division. Just play ball and not worry about it. You are exactly right about St. Louis. The only thing missing is Pujols. They still have their team intact and added some good veterans. You certainly have to respect their pitching. I do hope Carpenter's arm snaps clear off at some point...

I think Cozart and Mesoraco will hold their own nicely. Rolen is poised to have a monster year - mark it down. Our starting pitching is going to be key, Lord knows our bullpen will hold up it's end of the deal. If our starters can go 7 or 8 innings consistently, we should be able to win the majority of those games the way our team is built

Play Rolen as much as he can handle without using him up. He is still our best option. I'm not sold on Francisco, and yes, I know his minor league numbers were good. If he comes in and lights it up, then sweet, we have our heir apparent. I'm pretty sure he is out of options, so more than likely he sticks on the roster. Personally, I'd like to see them develop Frazier at 3rd. Just love his grit and tenacity. Kind of reminds me of Heisey with the way he goes to work and works his ass off.

I love the Reds on the radio, and also love going to the games. Compared to football it is pretty cheap.

I also have had beers with CK on the patio with the boys. That is pretty cool also.

I can see Jordan Smith pitching his way up. Big, 6'4", 220lbs, just turned 26. At times last season he showed why he belongs in the majors. Consistency is the key for Smith. If Masset has one of his slow starts then we could very well see Smith. Chapman, if not starting, will be in Louisville.

LeCure is one of my faves simply because of the mustache, which now has become a full beard. Seriously though, hard not to root for the underdog. Especially one as gritty as Sam is. He will eat up some innings also-77.2 last season. One batter or 5 innings, doesn't matter to this man. Go Sam!

Ondrusek is a beast. Besides his imposing size, 6'8", 240, he is an inning eater. He is a true "gimme the ball coach" kind of guy and doesn't back down from anyone. Look forward to seeing some of his potential break out this season.

Bill Bray is another stud. For Reds relievers with 45 or more innings pitched, he had the second fewest HR's given up. Three compared to Chapman's two. I think this is the year we will see the "real" Bill Bray. Finally healthy for an extended amount of time. With Marshall in the pen now, these two make up a formidable left hand duo.

Arredondo has fantastic stuff. He just needs to find it. Too many walks last season, 31 in 53 innings pitched. Compare that to Bailey, who is a starter, 33 walks in 132 innings. The powers that be say he has it, we'll see.

With Marshall and Madson rounding out the pen, it looks like a tough year for Reds opponents. Good Lord, this is an incredible bullpen!

I have an almost identical story to yours, Seubs. Grew up listening to Marty and Joe damned near everyday. At home , in the car, Grandpa's backyard, you name it, Marty and Joe were there.

My favorite thing about the Reds has to be the radio. Sure, I love going to the ballpark as much as the next guy, but a family of five can get expensive. Radio is free. Several ice cold beers on the patio with Marty and The Cowboy, and I'm good to go. It gets even better when my boys wanna toss ball while listening.....ahhh summertime.

Radio, beer, patio, three sons who love baseball... What more could I possibly need!

I agree I think Stubbs will start the year in CF, and I hope I'm wrong and cleans up what happened last year cause if he can get his hitting and most of all his strikeouts under control he could be a great asset to the team. I just think the Reds need to be ready with that short leash just in case. I think Heisey will be and should be the LF to start the year but Ludwick should get some decent playing time.

How many first round draft picks are "bench" players that come in late in the game as a defensive sub or pinch runner? Stubbs is still young and I haven't given up on him. As for LF, I think you go with Heisey until he proves you otherwise.

I agree. I believe Stubbs will start in CF, but with a short leash. He is an unbelievable talent who still needs to grow and mature. Let's not forget how young he is. That being said, at the first hint of struggling, he should be yanked for a proven commodity. Heisey certainly has earned a shot to play everyday. Let's see how Ludwick pans out. I hope you're right about him not wanting to be "the man". He has the talent, you don't just forget how to hit the ball. But personally, I like Heisey in LF. Let's teach Billy Hamilton to play CF.....
