RLW Episode 09 – How Great is our Pitching?

A Wet Day at GABP

So if you listen to the podcast (if you don’t what’s wrong with you) you know I both live about 2 ½ hours from Cincinnati, and decided this year to buy a 20 game package of tickets and lucky me (I mean that as you’ll see) had tickets to last night. On the drive down it was raining a little but nothing too bad but thanks to the miracle of smart phones I was looking at the map an knew it was going … [Read more...]

The Reds are a cool .500 right now. They just took the first two games of the series against the Giants and some outstanding pitchers. Was Sunday a slump buster?

Maybe the Reds got those hits on Sunday. In narrowly avoiding a sweep by the Nationals, some of the biggest slumpers currently for the Reds came up big. Scott Rolen was on base when Ludwick smacked a grand slam in … [Read more...]

BRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCE

How about starting the season with three hits all for home runs?  How about the last one being clutch in the ninth inning where your offense has stalled and you are down one. How about Jay Bruce is starting this season killing the ball. On Bruce"s bat, the Reds won their first series of the season. Like I said before, as long as the Reds can take two games in every series this season is going to … [Read more...]

Spring training ball is not about win loss

Spring training ball is not about win loss, it is about how the players perform. How players have come back from injury and how the young guys are looking. Here are some notes on some of the guys with question marks: Aroldis Chapman has gone gone 4 innings with 5 Ks, 1 BB and 2 hits. Two of those innings were perfect against the Giants.  That is strong for Chapman. It will be interesting to see … [Read more...]
